I am wondering if any member has experience with the travelmate 2480 that we are looking at presently.

My wife is looking at this model just to do browsing and emails. We have a new copy of Windows xp pro and Staples will install it and d/l the drivers for it.
She doesn't want the Vista that exists with the unit.
The price is $550 and $250 for an extended 3 year warranty.
I can't seem to find much on this unit. I have googled this model and as well the AS 3680 notebook which is $100 more
I really would appreciate comments, as there is only one left.
We have never had an Acer before, always toshiba notebooks and so we are new to this brand and whether or not this model is decent.

Mostly HP, Toshiba and Sony and I had been told to look at the Acer, however I don't know about their quality of costruction, parts and it is the store that I have been dealing with for years that I would be buying from.

As mentioned earlier I have a news sealed disk of Windows xpsp2 home that i will have installed by Staples so that the correct drivers can be d/l.
