No one visiting this forum anymore?

Looks like no one is visiting this site anymore, there are so many queries unanswered.

I am sure there are many experts in answering technical queries out there but where are they?
I'm still here, but there's some I can't answer.

Ideally One search this site first, which I did, it does not contain info I need that is why I put inquiry here.

My query, Omega driver on D600 the answer is straight forward, yes or no, most people who installled the omega driver should be able to notice the difference.
Omega is a bit behind but his drivers are typically better than anything else at the moment. HOWEVER ive heard of users getting strange unexplainable issues with newer videocards such as the X1400 or X1900. Some of the issues include screens blacking out and slightly less than stellar 2d render performance (Flash animation or windows in general) this may not apply to your notebook but if you happen to get unexplainable issues while using Omega drivers you may want to stick with Dell drivers.

This site caters to questions about systems in the legacy catagory but if you have a technical question like this you should try posting in the Technical Support section as 100% of those posts get answered by either yours truly or other knowledgeable and helpful individuals.

Yes...omega drivers work with the D600 and its Ati radeon 9000.
They dont really offer any higher performance...but yes they are compatible.

I like Omega Drivers. I'm still using their drivers from 2003.

I feel like the 17-20" forum is alot more busy then this one though
post #10 of 12
well i think everybody is agree that the old notebookforums is really gone eh?
mainly after the design change?

I had a D600 latitude and used omega and DNA drivers....it made the difference between playing doom 3 really badly or barely at all.
I can't remember specifics, its nearly three years ago,but they did make a difference with doom 3.

SirBA,are you talking about the new colours/format of NBF ?

I think maybe the admin should unseparate the groups of sub forums for different sizes in the Dell section like AW/asus etc,and that way the lesser used sections wouldn't be as sparse on traffic etc,but then, maybe the 17" lovers wouldn't like that
post #12 of 12
Go to 17" section, etc and you'll see there is still heaps of traffic. Only natural that the older systems boards will get fewer and fewer posts over time as (1) Most q's have been asked, answered and can be found through search here; and (2) A lot of people have moved on to newer and greener pastures on the hardware front.

Still people here and will to help though....
