I'm looking to purchase a Thinkpad. These are the configurations I chose. I'm not a gamer, so I don't care for a graphics card. But as you can see the T61 and R61 have indentical configs and yet cost differently. What is the difference between the two. The Z61t seems the have the worse configs of the 3 yet costs the most, why is that? What is the difference between the "black" and "titanium" screen options for the Z61t?

I do notice that the R61 and T61 have off-aligned screen, while the Z61t doesn't.

Any comments or input is appreciated. Thanks.

The T61 is a little bit thinner and lighter than the R61. T61 also has the option for WWAN and uses the Ultrabay Slim, the R61 has no WWAN option and uses Ultrabay Enhanced.

Not sure why the Z61t costs more, the titanium cover is more heavy duty than the regular black plastic, better protection, more weight, different look.

I've got a T61 and loving everything (except Vista) about it. The off-center screen is really no big deal, I never even notice it when using it.

the off center screen I believe allows for a larger (or more) WiFi antennas.

unquestionably, go with the T61.

1 year warranty? All of my laptops came with three years...

I would go for T61 due to its new cooling system design plus the improved roll cage.

Oh also, it would be a good investment to get at least 2 yrs of warranty.
