8790 Seems dead, but gives pulse

Hi guys,

I've had my 8790 for almost 3 years now, and I've run into countless problems and have had to do numerous RMA's and send it to MicroMedics a few times, and the mobo has been replaced atleast once.

When I left for work a week or so ago my 8790 was on, when I came back, it was off. I tried to turn it on but there was no response, I cleaned out the system, I took out the battery and the power cable, put them back in (with a green light on the power brick), removed and replaced the bios battery, changed the hard drive bays, all with no luck. I found that when I plug the system in the battery light blinks yellow, so I tried to power it on with no battery, still no luck. But, it would give power to the hard drive to spin up, and I can definitely hear a slight electric noise when I listen close to the bottom of the motherboard while plugged in.

Does the light mean anything or is my mobo just dead again?

Thanks,

Vicviper,
Try removing 1 stick of RAM at a time & booting. I had a stick go bad & the 8790 would even load the bios, the LCD stayed completely dark. The only thing that would happen is that after a minute or 2 the fans would kick in, other wise the system was unresponsive.
