No more custom paint...

Well it seems Hypersonic has lost it's connection with Smooth Creations. (I'm assuming) I just got an email today saying they they want to powdercoat my system, and that I can't get the custom graphic on it like that.

Scratch one customer.

That really sucks, thats one of the big deciding factors when people are deciding to go with Hypersonic or another company

I thought this might happen soon. If any of you have been frequenting smooths website, you'd have noticed their increased pushing of prepainted coolermaster cases/prebuilt rigs. It was only a matter of time before they became a fully functional in-house pc building company.

Yeah I kinda saw it coming but its not like their PCs are even close to being affordable, they're outrageous!

Smooth Creations will always do a custom if you have the $$. You just need to contact them. Not that I would but the solid paint job you get with Hype is good enough for me.

How do you know they are still doing custom graphics? They don't have it on their site anymore. Wait are you talking about custom graphics or custom paintjobs (i.e. chameleon blue, ect.)

The custom graphics, they will paint anything you want on whatever you want. Thats their business, custom graphics. Their gallery is nothing but machines sent in to be customized.

Anyone can go down the street and get a body shop to cusomize their lids and cases, and for that matter if they have a good graphics person that too.

Remember these guys paint CARS for a living. Computers are just a side line with whatever is left over in the spray guns.

If you look at the links and go to about us, it is clear that they do not intend to give up doing custom graphics.

Their getting into the computer end is no different than anyone else, they are selling the same Clevos and the Arimas that everyone else is. The one thing is that you have to remember is that they are a custom paint shop, not a custom computer builder. They just sell you "a machine" of what they can get with their paint job and graphics. If you look at what they offer as far as computers are, is that they have the latest of what can be assembled at the moment, not much leeway with tweeks and accesories.

So if you want that Custom built Hype and decide that you want a custom paint job and or graphics, I am sure they will not turn you away because you didnt buy from them. No where did they state you have to buy their machines to get the paint or graphics.

I can understand the fact that Hype does not list them, and then again SC has probably had enough of all the resellers standing in their lobby looking for some kind of deal to get custom painting. It wont affect either company's business. Taking them off the menu is fine, those who know will follow, those who don't will not care either way.
