Did they run out of new MBPs???

Hey, I went online to apple site to order my new MBP and could not believe my eyes - the only systems available are 667 model and the delivery time - guess, - 1-3 business days. What happened to new 800 models and 4-6 weeks.

Is it true or is it just me?

i dont think they even list the 667 as for sale anymore since they released the new models.

i think u saw memory speeds and thought it wasnt the 800mhz cpu fsb

All I can say is I ordered my 2.4GHz 15" MBP on Tuesday June 5th. It was scheduled to ship on June 6-8. Tomorrow is the 8th, so we'll see. I ordered it with iWork pre-installed, so that is probably delaying it some. So far I've not received an "it's delayed" email. The website still shows 1-3 days except for the HD options.

The memory, as kg said, is still running at 667 but the FSB is running at 800.

hmmm can you put 800 memory on it?
You can, but the chipset isn't able to handle the higher speed and will revert to 667.

i hadnt seen 800 memory for laptops yet, though i havent checked.

ill assume from here on out its available

Kingston makes some, $60 for a 1 GB stick on the egg. So not too bad in price when compared to DDR2 667 SODIMMs, but since no laptops can use them yet.... kind of moot.

not really if u consider the upgrade path before buying, ya know

if it clocks down to 667 anyways, theres no real reason not to buy the 800 if youre a frequent upgrader
