ive been thinking about reformating my m1210 when i first got it, but was afraid because i never done it before, but today i was so fed up with the way the m1210 slow boot up and decided to reinstall clean win xp, i read a lot before about how to format Dell effectively, i just dont know what to do with the dell restore partition so far i read here - http://www.goodells.net/dellrestore/fixes.htm that it will no longer function after partitioning, before i format (factory setting) i have the c:20gig and d:50gig i used for backup documents, i format it today as c:30gig and d:40gig, will i be able to use the dell restore partition? or not?

Dude, remove it. Remove all of the partitions. I think MediaDirect is useless, and I removed that partition as well. Just my opinion.

See here for how I did a clean install: http://www.notebookforums.com/thread197849.html

I think you should delete the Dell Restore partition but you should do your own periodic system image of C: to protect yourself.
