Time to enlist NBF for help...

I come to you hoping I can draw enough attention to my situation to be treated at least like a human being by Dell Support. I've been through numerous system replacements and I still don't have a working laptop. You can read the entire article through Digg.

Please help a fellow Dell user in need

Dell Drops The Ball...Again

What seems to be the problem?

5 System Replacements in 10 months, a Dead laptop, Promised Compensation, and no phone call, no status on replacement number 6 and I'm just quite frankly fed up with being passed around faster than a beer.

I don't mean to be an ass here. 5 replacements in 10 months.. may be it's you doing something wrong with the laptop? Dell is replacing the laptop again correct?

I usually don't take Dell's sides on stuff like this, but Dell must have lost money, and then some on your sale.

What have you been doing with the laptop anyways? Expecting 5 replacements caused by only Dell is just unreal to me, or you must be the unluckiest guy I've seen this forum.

As for getting another replacement, yourself have to do the work of following up when Dell fails so. It's you who need the laptop, so you just keep have to go at it.

I've been keeping the go at it and have the Replacement authorized. It's the customer service and compromising Customers data and privacy I truly have the concern with. Also, I use the Laptop for typical things, such as College Work, Work, and at home for Gaming, since I have the laptop maxed out minus the T7200. If I would have gotten a call back even today, I wouldn't be at this point, but this isn't the first time, and I've been MORE than patient with the "procedures" which are coming out to be nothing more than a joke at this point.

I am going to have to agree with Achilles here. I would start looking at your power. Are you running a UPS or surge supression? If you are haing power fluctuations i can damage your equipment. Computers are very suseptable to damage like that.

If you have any way, wither through a UPS, or multimeter to monitor your house voltage over a long period I would recommend it.

I have a lot of laptops & have never had an issue like yours, or seen one for that matter.

Some UPS's have AVR (though some AVR systems are a joke) My Belkin 1500 probide true AVR, maintaining a constant voltage at all times, regardless of the incoming voltages.

The call backs are usually way off as promised. I would just keep call Dell whenever you have free time.

I have the laptop running through the UPS at home when possible (1500VA UPC) but not at work. The laptops have liked to go shockey, which seems to be a common thing with the 2 prong adapters.

Again, what problems are you experiencing???

Specifically w/ the laptop

IE-- blue screen, faulty monitor, crashing, HD noisy, Overheating???

Various problems with all the laptops...Multiple GPU Failures (Bluescreen in any 3d App), Motherboard Failures (9 time out of 10), and now the latest is freezing during the POST test with the Dell Progress screen. I can't even run the diagnostics to see what is wrong with it.
Blue screen does not mean GPU is failing. It may be just a hardware conflict, or you are OC'ing too high. I'm assuming you get BSOD during game play out of nowhere?
Perhaps you should look ingo getting a 3 prong adapter?
My friend has been in a similar issue perhaps one of the DellCAs can help you? Althoguh its the weekend but come monday im sure you could contact one.

No, The Bluescreen was only one of the issues with the Graphics Card, others were corrupted display and MASSIVE overheating.

DELL-Machina, Would you be able to help me get in contact with one of the DellCAs?
Have you ever OC'd the gpu?
Anyway, the CA's are members here so you can just do a member search and drop a pm I guess although most of the time they respond in the thread on their own.

Mind you a UPS or Surge protector will ONLY protect your equipment if you're connected to a properly grounded outlet (They can protect non-grounded equipment from surges anyway). If you live in an older home or structure odds are you'll have 3 pronged outlets but they won't be grounded. My house was built in 1957, despite having 3 pronged outlets everywhere NONE of them are grounded. It's just that the outlets cost a quarter a piece and the 2 prong adapters are 60 cents a piece. Commercial buildings traditionally have had wire retrofitted so you'd be ok there. But homes are RARELY gutted of electrical wiring to make room for new Romex.

5 Laptops is HIGHLY unusual and I'm inclined to agree with some of the others it may be a factor you're introducing that you are unaware of. Either that or you have extremely bad luck, haven't broken any mirrors or walked under any ladders recently have you?

In all seriousness, I did break a mirror moving my grandmother into our house a while ago

haha...
Ah doesn't look like you're stirring up too much attention in your story

I know, just hopefully one of the DellCA's will be able to help me get this (finally) situated. I know it's not good for Dell money wise with all the system replacements and it's NOT good for me with backing up and restoring every few weeks

most decent UPS systems have a ground fault indicator. have you looked to see if it is illuminated?
