Inspiron 8600 Port Replicator

Hi, I'm brand new to this forum and I came across it because I have been looking for a port replicator/docking station for my Dell Inspiron 8600. There appears to be a plethora of different options and so I was hoping to get some advice and recommendations from you guys. I looked on Dell's web site and they have Dell Part # 310-2913 listed specifically for the 8600: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...9&sku=310-2913 .

However, I have also seen many other Dell replicators marketed as being compatible with the 8600. How do I know which ones will be compatible and which replicator would you guys recommend? BTW, whichever one I buy, I really want a DVI port (which the 310-2913 has), since I just bought a Samsung 226BW, specifically for this setup.

As long as you get one for an Inspiron you'll not have any trouble. Ones for a Latitude won't work unless you force your system to use a D800 BIOS. Sometimes you can find the Latitude docks alot cheaper. But before purchasing I'd make sure you can get your 8600 to think it's a D800.
