Acer Aspire 5610Z Windows loading forever

Hi, I recently got this new laptop Acer Aspire 5610Z and I have some problems. The windows takes forever to load. And sometime it doesn't even load. I have to press the power button to force it to shut down until it works. Any suggestions?

The laptop came with 1GB ram and I've upgraded it to 2GB but I don't think that's the problem? I've updated the bios to the latest too. You think that's the problem? Or maybe my vista? The laptop came with Vista Home Premium but I didn't like it and I've put Vista Ultimate on it (legal one, not cracked)

Any help please? Thx in advance

I had the same problem, I went to system config, startup and peeled out a lot of the programs that suck up cpu's. (Norton, Windows Defender, etc. and some other unnecessary start up items) It now works much faster, but still not up to XP. Good Luck!!
