Speedfan or Notebook Hardware Control

Thread Starter
Got both running at the moment but I have a vast difference in temperatures!

Speedfan is showing maximum of 40C
NHC is showing HDD @ 41C and CPU anything up to 56C

Which one should I be believing?

i use SpeedFan on vista since it is a bit more stable than NHC (imo anyway) - still the art of exact temp measurement is still very a long way away

cheers ...

Sadly I think that NHC has some pretty bad issues - particularly with the speedstep code. I had it installed for a while and the display at the bottom of the screen always read 1000Mhz instead of my 2Ghz it should be. Things were laggy and problematic... I couldn't pull video's off my Sony Camcorder through the firewire port as they were choppy and unusable... Uninstalling NHC fixed all my problems. (Yes I know how to use it, so don't assume it was user error)

Anybody else notice that it tries forcing the lowest multiplier all the time?

i use RM clock 2.25 for maximum performance and it also mesures CPU temreature, i have overclocked my T2700 with clockgen and it's shows around 40-45 degrees celcius in desktop mode and around 55-60 in games and clocks are always at 2.58-2.6 GHZ(when you have Thermal monitiring turned on it throttles a little when tepreature goes above 40 degrees)
