that support the mobility 9700.. should give you a small speed boost with some utilities to overclock to your heart's content.

i installed these drivers and when I go to device manager it shows me 9700 as a 9600 M10

Thread Starter
I installed the new Omega drivers and got a BSOD, so uninstalled.
I run Farcry at 1440 x 900 at its awsome. More screen space to see bad dudes.
I have toned the game down to high settings, and it runs well.

Another thing, in the BIOS it reserves some of your system RAM for video, but do you need to do this when you have a separate video card???
e.g. the default is to reserve 128Mb for video.

how do you know how many fps your getting?
GS, are you running on the maximum settings?

1024x768 @ very High with ATi Control panels settings at default 32 bit and D3D, OpenGL everything else default.

Thats how I am running my Far Cry now

Nandro- I think press ~, then type \r_displayinfo 1 I'm not 100% on that though.

Q-Ball, anything above 25-30 Fps the human eye can't tell the differance, so 50 Fps is plenty good.

I haven't even bothered installing FarCry on my 5680 since I didn't think it could even run it but now I got to give it a try.

My 5680 plays farcry with no problems at all at 1024x768 (for some reason the display is all messed up at 1600x1200). I have most things set to high and 2x AA. I get between 25-60 fps

maaan - how OLD are you?! ... don't rate everything in the numbers game. like someone mentioned before, the human eye cant register more than 30fps.

someone help me out here and tell this guy how many fps your average hollywood movie is...

if you wanna see super-ultra-fast graphics, buy this laptop and play games from 2 years ago.

or buy that Mach computer from Go-L. hahahahahaha...

we're talking about real life consumer computers, not ultra-over clocked server machines, or review-site/magazine monster boxes. anything above 20fps is great on the user-end with the most recent games.

read too much maximum PC and their ultra-computer reviews!! >_<

Actually thats not exactly true. Even though a movie is basically 24fps it can achieve what appears to be smooth movement by tricking the eye with motion blur. Video games on the other hand do not work that way so the FPS variations are more visible.

New Drivers from OMEGA

has anyone tried Far Cry with the April 8th Omega Drivers and a screen size of 1440 x 900 using the very high setting? I have been told it works with out any issues.
