Will a 533fsb Pentium M work in a 600m?

I have 3 600m celeron notebooks that I want to upgrade to Pentium M CPU's. They have the i855GM chipset and I was wondering if I can use a 533fsb CPU or if it has to be 400fsb.

533 fsb CPU will work on the 400 fsb motherboard, but it will run at a lower clock and thus a lower speed.
I've tested a 2.0 ghz cpu from a 9300 (533 fsb) on a inspiron 8600.
It worked, and booted up fine..but it was running at 1.6ghz ... or 1.7 i'm not exactly sure.
But to answer yr question...yes the 533fsb cpu will work in yr 400fsb computer

So basically it still runs at 400fsb with whatever multiplier the CPU has. Guess I"ll just stick with a 400fsb CPU so I don't get cheated out of any speed.

that is correct. I didnt really run it too long...but I'd guess the cpu would run pretty cool

Yes I bet that would make for some very nice undervolting. Would be temping if I could find a 2 or 2.1ghz /533fsb Dothan for real cheap.
