Clamshell iBook won't show video

Hi, requesting some help from the Mac experts here:

My sister's original clamshell iBook seems to be showing a problem. After she used it to browse the internet and use some office software she shut it down for a few minutes and then turned it back on only to have no video showing.

The system makes the usual start up sound and you can even hear it booting up but shows no video. I'm gonna take a look at it before contemplating send it in for repairs (we just use it for browsing and office so no get a new one suggestions please ).

Any suggestions on trying to troubleshoot it myself?

lol, so it was the mobo from the sounds of it. i was going to suggest trying an external display to see if that might register. offhand however i don't know if the clamshells have a video out port.

Clamshells didn't. Besides the power port, the ports they have is 1 USB, 1 Ethernet, 1 modem port and headphones.

Just the basics.
