Hmmm, I hope that this means that there will be a new model coming out soon to replace it. The size is perfect for my wife, and I like the built-in webcam. The only thing that I did not like was the Intel GMA 950 graphics. Maybe they will go to the new Santa Rosa platform for a replacement?

Oh well, another wait and see game.

Yeah, SR would be nice. Although, I am not really upset about the graphics as I would be using this for business uses.

Something geared more towards Vista would be nice.

what i posted on the other thread

"Dear Alienware Customer,

Thank you for contacting Alienware Sales.

In regards to your inquiry, unfortunately the Sentia m3450 is now out of production, and it will no longer be available. Due to a constrained supply of internal components and the on-going technologies, Alienware has decided to discontinue this mobile system.

We are always testing new systems, after these systems are tested and validated they are offered to the public so there is a chance that we may offer a similar notebook for purchase, but unfortunately, I have no information as to when (or if) it will be offered in our website.

We recommend that you check our website regularly for the most recent updates. You could also subscribe to our newsletter in our website www.alienware.com if you want to receive our latest news and information on our new products.

Please do not hesitate to contact Alienware's Sales Department at 1-800-745-1639 if you have any questions or concerns. Our office hours are from 9:00 A.M. to 11:30 P.M. (Eastern) on weekdays and from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Saturdays. "

tis what they sent back to me, hopefully it wont take too long for them to do anything

I was just showing mine off today to my dad and came home to price out possibly buying a SECOND unit for my dads birthday as a gift from my mom, coudn't find it anywhere and havent been to the AW site in months, so came here to find out what is up and apparently it was there as a choice but was recently pulled.

Still see no 12 incher either, so now their 15 inch is the smallest available unit? EEKSS!

I was close to buying one of those 12 inchers too way back..

Do you guys reckon the UK site will take it off soon too? And what do you mean by problems? I haven't hear much probs with this laptop- something else I'm ignorant to?

That's really difficult to answer.

As for the problems, I really haven't heard too much in the way of problems, other than complaints about it not being able to game, but this laptop wasn't even menat to be a gaming laptop.

The M5550 is now even the same price as the M3450. I was talking to a rep while mine was in for repairs and asked him about it getting pulled. He said it was being discontinued, so I would assume that means no new models and the UK site will drop them (if it hasn't by now).

It's gone from the UK site, bad timing though, just when all the college kids would be looking for a portable notebook.

The spec was in bad need of an update though IMO

I wonder if the newer smaller AW line will come from Dell's newest M1330? I mean its not a bad looking notebook. Looks like something sony would come out with in terms of style.

I wouldn't count on it being replaced, Alienware's selling point is that it makes gaming laptops and the GMA 950 in the Sentia was really letting the range down, serious 14 inch gamer got an Asus A series, with a better card, warrenty and it was cheaper to boot.
