m9750 delayed till 1st week of August? - Page 3

Personally, I think the august delay news is a mistake.. There is nothing anywhere stating it, even on the order site.. so Im still hoping for end of june.. But im gonna be pissed as hell if I dont get it before QuakeCon (Aug 2-5th)

I guess we will find out in a week or so if our laptops move past phase 4 or not.
I just ordered mine today with a July 3rd ship date.... god I hope it's not delayed 'til august.
Just received this Email thought you peeps that ordered this monster in April or May would like to see it. Since E-mail updates from AW are sporadic at best

"According to our Inventory Department we are expecting the backordered items to arrive during the next few days.
Based on this, the estimated date for your order to be shipped is during the last week of June. If it is ready before that date, we will notify you.
Please be assured that we are putting forth our best efforts to see that your system is delivered as promptly as possible.

Thank you for your patience and kind understanding."

The end is near!!! WooHoo!

Bummer thing is that If i had known it would take this long I would have had them ship me the empty chassis so I could custom airbrush it and send it back for assembly!
As I have airbrushed my desktop, my desk and some other stuff on my desk LOL! I think i will have to airbrush a nice Beer fridge to go under my desk while I wait! LOL

While I didn't get an e-mail...

I DID notice that after being in Phase 6 for over a month... I'm now in phase 5.

So.. who knows what that means.
Well Shalamar you ordered yours 1 week before me so I am thinking that you will be getting your laptop before me thus getting the chance to review your new m9750 here on the forums and save me from all that typing LOL Let us know when the delivery man commeth!!

Apparently the "first batch" of barebones for the first 9750 orders came in a few weeks ago, which is why some of the first orders jumped into phase 6 (after being "built" in phase 5). However, they were diagnosed (in what I would assume to be phase 7) to not be up to Alienware's quality standards in looks (according to the sales rep). They sent an Alienware inspector over to the "manufacturer" (which I assume to be Arima?) to ensure that the new barebones will be up to par with the rest of Alienware's standards. The first m9750's should ship by the 29th (a Friday) and arrive early July. For the record, I ordered mine April 3rd, so anyone who ordered around that time will probably get the same or similar answer as me if you call.

Oddly, when I did call, they didn;t say that. Just that they were testing, but that I should see mine ship in the next week or two.

To clarify, remember that the m9700s were not available for special pre-orders like the m9750s have been ... so that is part of the difference there. I doubt the delay has ANYTHING to do with the Dell purchase of Alienware - if anything, that will improve Alienware's ability to get parts.

Certainly don't blame people for being impatient - it's hard to wait! But, and I say this nicely, if you are happy with your current system, then perhaps the delays worked in your favor, as you're able to do what you want with a computer that is far less powerful and expensive than the m9750 - not a bad thing.
I think dollar for dollar your Hp has more than adequate performance. Hell, if the m9750 comes out and you can't live without it then put the Hp up on Ebay and place an order for one.
Or: Keep the Hp and use the money you saved as funds for an Area-51 desktop.

i thinki witth the overclock im dealing witha 7600 that now preforms like a 770-7800 series. I know that the piplines are more on those cards bout the gpu is handling more at once now... = better scores and proformance... Stock is never good.... OCing....Very good...
well my Hp cost i think 1100 less than the 9750.. and includes eveything cept the name and the graphics card.

but i think what i might do... when i need to replace the hp ...hopfully not for the next 3 years... I'll buy an AW with my own money...Mechanical Engineering Job... gets me 90,000 min a year.... that should be able to pay for a AW.

and i willl remember NOT to get a preorder... Get something avalible at that time... Less wait(the killer in the process) and less hassle.

so there still might be a AW in my future.. I hope to join the Happy AW customers soon. and i know they still hold their amazing reputation.

Sounds good KK.

I also think the advice to consider a desktop as your next machine is not a bad one ... of course that's not always so easy if you don't have space in a dorm room. Good luck with your college career!
well i really cant afford to have space for adesktop and i need to be moblie. FOr the Engineering classes i need a High preforming machine which could of been the 9750 that i can take back and forth to class to the dorm and back everyday. desktops cant do that..lol.. but I could ge the area 51 , desktop for the room and keep the hp. or just get a well equipied lappy similair to the 9750 in the next years to come. Maybe it will have quad cpus, quad sli, huge HD's, and all with like 3 hours batt, oh and yeah under 1.5 inch thick. with the most important 17-19 inch sceen. now that would be NIIIICCCCEEE.

Just order the M9750 already KK lol. There are a few other great options such as the Gateway NX860XL which was on sale for like 1499.99 a few weeks ago maxed out with 2.0ghz 2gb ram, 17 WXUGA Nvidia 7900 GS 160gb hd... but everyone has a Gateway, dell or HP. ALienware's are less common which makes them special : )

The Nvidia 7600 is an OK depending on what you use it for... What games are you playing causing you to OC your card? I can't wait till I get my desktop and M9750! Hopefully it ships within the next 2 weeks : )
im not playing much on it.. I have two old games cuase i was never able to play high end stuff cuase i got into the gaming world a little late.. I had an old old dell with guess what 1 meg of shared memory of the 64 meg stickof ram.. yeah that suxed. now i have a gateway destop with a x300 128meg. works well to an extent. and then my Hp which im using right now.

What i run now is THug 2(skate boarding) and the old skool need for speed. Nfs 3hp(has a really bad load problem cuase it was meant for WIN95. and i have VIsta) and nfshp2.(this had some bad lag at times..so i OCed it.) so im not really a gamer.. but i do sometimes.

BUt the main reason i was getting the 9750 was for CAD and Rendering software for Engineering Courses. and i knew it would handle anything i would throw at it year after year.

WEll my Hp i think can do just above the Min requirements.

have fun with the 7500 and especially that elusive 9750. always slipping away from the grasp of the consumer right when you think it will be there on your doorstep.

you guys know anything about what the future might bring.. I know of quad cpu's hitting the moblie market(proposal?).. any help would be nice. cuase i could possibly need a great proformer late next year... Im going to be doing two Engineering majors and will be ding a ton of cad for 3 years striaght.

oh i forget to say this... I couldnt wait longer just cause i needed a lappy for college. i also was at the point of completly moving out of my house in late may. so there would of been nowhere to ship it to.. right now im in that transition phase of moving so i need one before the move.
Well it doesn't really matter now eh? It seems you got just what you were looking for, and at a cheaper price to boot.
yeah your right but.. all of us have that feeling inside of us saying..."i want one of those 9750's.."
