I was wondering what are the best games for the pc right now, like what games have really good graphics and good gameplay, such as HL2.

Also if you like RPG's and haven't tried it yet you may want to look into Oblivion. On the FPS side of life there is F.E.A.R. and many many more.

it really depends on what genre of games you like. i mean, there are good games in each category. each person has their favorites. fps, rts, rpg, turn-based, etc. i just sort of went through a long rts phase where i was playing rise of nations (i think it has pretty good gameplay, but not the best graphics), supreme commander, and the total war series (rome, medieval 1 and 2)

I have oblivian for the ps3 already.
But The types of games I like are rpg and fps. Mabye even third person.
I was wondering what would be a good mmorpg right now. I just quit playing Star Wars galaxies, so Im thinking WoW (because if its popularity) or mabye Lord of The Rings. Ill look into S.T.A.L.K.E.R., looks pretty cool.

M2TW, great game, will last you easily 3-6 months. FEAR, Call of Juarez, and go and check out www.straferight.com its like a sister site of NBF for games

Rise of nations is an older game which is why the graphics are so old looking.

Its still looks great but it was made in like 04' or 03' so thats y the grphx look dated

You may want to look at GuildWars as you don't have to pay monthly fees. Plus GW2 is coming out soon.

Also in the mmorpg category, consider Everquest 2. It's gorgeous graphically (the graphics engine was designed to continually improve over time, and it has) and the gameplay is much less tedious than the first. Just make sure you have a decent video card and at least 2gb of RAM if you want to crank the settings up.

The only problem with mmorpgs is that they can absorb so much of your gaming-time that you neglect to try other great games like the ones suggested here...

Do you play it, because Im wondering if it has a big community or not. Something comparable to WoW? I dont like playing mmorpg's when not alot of people play, thats why I quit StarWars galaxies, to many ppl went to WoW.

Hands down I still think the best PC game out is Counter-Strike: Source.

You can call Steam Support and they will recover the account. Anyway, I prefer the game from a competitive angle.

I just got released last month. I am sure LOTR will grow very rapidly, as the whole LOTR story itself has a lot of followers.

I quit starwars galaxies after spending 3 years on it ahahah

heh same here, lost count on how long I was playing. SWG was good till the devs nerfed it to hell . Couldnt stand playing for 2 years as a swordsman then became a jedi, then all of a sudden they patched it and everyone could start out as a jedi and all the prenerf weapons and armor became crap. It became to much like everquest.

yea, that was about the time I stopped playing it too.

if ya havent, its dated but planetside will always be my favourite game of all time its RPG /FPS.

Oblivion is great fun hack n slash rpg - i am a vampire at the mo :P

Half life 2 episode one is good but very short.

CSS some servers are seriously refined and Unreal2K4 still a great blast are old but excellent games.

I stopped online RPG since it requires lot of time to actually do fun things/look cool in games.

I enjoy STALKER, and BF2142.
