Dell Latitude D410 upgrade

hey guys,

i was wondering if i can upgrage Dell Latitude D410 with Pentium M to Dual Core?
like replacing the motherboard? would the mb from D420 fit the D410?

I don't know if you can remove the CPU on that model, perhaps someone else in the know can confirm that or not?

As for upgrade options, it uses the 915 chipset, so that means Dual Core/ Core 2 is a no go. But you can upgrade to the fastest 533Mhz Pentium M if you want (780 @ 2.26GHz)... although better option if that is possible would be to pin mod a 400Mhz Pentium M, much cheaper

Unfortunately swapping the motherboard from D420 is not an option as they are different form factor, see:

The CPU on the D410 is welded to the motherboard. And Stu is correct, the D420 won't work either since it uses a different board. (D420 is widescreen, the D410 is not)

since the cpu is welded on the d410 is it replaceable???

are you sure that it is being soldered to the board?
