Well the 5790 was just put up on xoticpc.com and IMO it looks worse (is that orange i see??? )

Has the same specs but for more money. (5790 does have Santa Rosa and I think it may accept the 8800go if it every comes out....IDK though)

Just seems to me that I'd rather have the 5760.

Could any resellers (Luke or Justin) tell me why the 5790 is better than the 5760. TIA

Well IDK, on xopticpc the 5790-S has a pretty good pre-order deal right now w/ a free 1gb usb drive plus $100 off........I guess that deal is much better. If only it wasn't orange, hmmmmm.............

You know you can order it with a white border rather than orange, right? It just won't be coming out until a little bit later. And here are the reasons why it's better. 1: The new processor 2: Standard hard drive is larger than that of the 5760 3: The new wireless card 4: 7950 GTX - They are removing that option from the 5760 and requiring that you get the Quadro card. 5: Possibility for Direct X 10 graphics card Edit: Oh yea, and the 5790 is about a pound lighter. XoticPC has posted that Clevo is working on getting the 8700 card working with the 5790. Even if you pre-order it now and get it with the 7950 GTX you can still upgrade it yourself. But, it'll eventually be for sale with the option of the 8700, and maybe the 8800, card. And in the end, the price is only about $120 more with the $100 pre-order discount.

yeah I've looked more into it and I agree it is a lot better than the 5760, but orange and white??? how did they come up with those colors what happened to silver........not in style anymore, Black w/ a silver stripe would be cool.

I agree that the orange and black is kinda weird, but I think the white and black is pretty nice. I'm probably gonna order a 5790, and I'll go for the white one. Maybe by the time the white stripe ships they'll have the 8700 working with it.

Do you have a picture to the black and white one.

I am interested in a preorder for the 5790. However, I am a 3d animator and modeler and I would use it more for other programs than games. I was actually waiting for a quadro fx series to come out for a Santa rosa laptop and I notice 5790 uses the 7950 GTX. Since the old 5760 uses 7950 GTX and the Quadro FX2500m,do you think i would be able to purchase the 5790 and swap out the 7950 GTX for a FX2500m?

Also, overall design is nice but i still think the 5760 design was better, not to mention the DJ and LED indicator on the bottom of the laptop which seems really convenient. I think it is an overall step down in design for the 5790.

the new model also supports 4gb ram, instead of 2gb for the 5760...
but from an ergonomic point , i think its is a step backwards. Still can't figure out why the have all these ports on the right hand side, where the majority of users have theyre mice & tablets..
