HEL80 possible hardware problems HELP

Thread Starter
I bought a Hel80 about month and a half ago. Today I went to open it and nothing responded. I did a hard restart after trying a few other things and when windows (XP PRO) restarted my LAN connection couldn't detect that the cable was plugged in. So i tried installing new drivers from the cd drive... but it couldn't find the cd drive either and it was working only intermittently, same with USB, 1 port worked, the other 2 do not, but the working one turnes on and off randomly.. any information you have would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Thanks,

Jayred

You could try resetting your CMOS.

Remove your AC adapter and battery first.

Open up the central compartment on the notebook's underside and remove the system memory (this is accomplished by gently pulling the locking pins away from the RAM modules, gently tilting the module up, and pulling it out).

Once the memory is out, look for a small copper square marked "J1" on the motherboard (it will be underneath the RAM, which is why the RAM must be removed). Touch a screwdriver or straightened paper clip to this copper square for 30 seconds to reset the CMOS.
