Should I:

A. Buy an Inspiron 1505 now.
If I get my laptop now, Dell will send me a souped-up 1505 for a reduced price since they are trying to get rid of their older models before they are replaced.

B. Wait for the Inspiron 1520 release on June 26.
If I sit on my wallet for 8 days, I’ll get the benefit of Dell’s latest and greatest laptop line, complete with a brand-new design and Intel's Santa Rosa processor.

Which is a smarter purchasing decision?

Does anyone know if Dell's new line will cost the same as the old one? Or will Dell jack up their prices on their new lineup? Let's say I bought a retail-priced 1505 a month ago. Will this 1505 cost approximately the same as a similarly configured Inspiron 1520?

Oh, and do they normally have coupons for a new product line?

I'd say wait regardless. Nobody knows the pricing on the new systems, however I bet the pricing will anger alot of early E1505 buyers

You can always send it back within 21 days.

is that 21 days from order date, or the date i receive my order? It has been over a month since i ordered my 1505 and still haven't received it, but if I can get a 1520 for a comparable price, my 1505 will be heading back

well I just got off the phone with Dell, because of an order issue, they had to cancel my other order and resubmit, and now it's not even due to ship until the 16th of july. I told the guy I would most likely be cancelling my order.

Will the i1505 still be available for sale on Dell’s web site after new lineup is released?

That is a question that no one seems to know, but on another forum a dell tech says the he expects them too overlap a little bit because that is what they have always done in the past.

Just as a point of reference...
I bought an e1505 as in my sig nearly a year ago to do the day (outlet style) for 779.00 (6-26-07)
I looked today for the same specs in the outlet and its about 600.00

Residual value ~ 80%

Making me lean toward the e1520 to be more expensive for at least the summer.

did you buy it yet? hehe lol

I have already got an order in for the 1505, until Dell either holds one heck of a sale, or a $500 off coupon, I will have to stick with that I guess.
