You have more than just demos to look at. Check out Company of Heroes fps with dx10 even on the monster that is the 8800gtx. The performance of harkons back to the days of gaming without Anti-Aliasing. http://www.gamealmighty.com/story-in..._to_Upgrade/3/ I'm mean we're talking about a 50% performance hit for something that adds imho minimal to moderate eyecandy (much less than hdr). Agreed, it's only one game, which probably isn't fully optimized, but I doubt it'll significantly close that 50% gap. And these real world results comport with the results from the demos you speak of. And remember, we're talking about the 8800gtx here. DirectX 10 is definitely the future, but the hardware/software is so far there even on good desktop systems that its really hard to be hopefully for a neutered mobile version.
true, then again, supposedly when DX10 does come out it will be more efficient than DX9.0C I'm guessing that the increased efficiency will then increase FPS. Sadly this is just speculation from what I read, the DX10 demos actually prove the opposite. I would say buy the DX10 card just cause you will have the DX10 capability, but then again by the time DX10 is running they way it should be another series of laptop video cards are probably going to be released. It is a hard call, I honestly would wait and see how the reviews go.
