M6Va and Vista

I'm running vista on my year old M6Va (z70va) using drivers provided on this web site, and everything runs great except one thing.

When I go into sleep mode, very rarely does the computer resume successfully. Most of the time it switches back on but gives a black screen and a small white square with random lines (my guess is this is where my mouse cursor was last positioned).. and then I have to do a hard reset. Once in a while if I'm lucky, it resumes. The second problem is that my power plan settings (ie the time to sleep, time for screen to turn off etc) are never remembered. If I adjust the settings and change the power source (ie unplug), it just reverts. If I change it again and then for example put the plug back in, it reverts. It also reverts if I shut down or reboot.

As you can imagine, both of these problems are very frustrating because I hate my laptop going into standby on its own or the screen staying on too long, and not being able to resume from standby, especially if it stands by on its own! I have been told both these issues relate to the ACPI driver, but I have the driver from this site, and can't find an updated one.

Is there anyone else who has some knowledge about these problems and how to deal with them? Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks
