just saw on another forum the 1330 is on the site customizable, but i dont believe its exactly right yet, because canada's is few hundread cheaper than ours, and the parts are different, its free for their led screen, and its free for our 8400gs card, so they have to stuff to work on

base price of 1684$ for u.s.

i like canada's price better

Canada eh? Look at the Dell Canada config page (it may change soon though - hopefully) as you'll see no option for a faster CPU than the 7100 and no LED screen either. No option to have no Productivity software - forced to get Works 8.0 pre-loaded. No option to deselect Security software.

I say if you can order from Dell USA then avoid Dell Canada as options and pricing are better south of the border - as usual!

I just configured two exactly equal systems. Canada is $300 cheaper

The Canadian website is cheaper, because the US website recently got more expensive with its options.

US website used to list the LED-backlit screen at +$100. Now it's $300.

8400GM used to be +$100. Now it's $150.

If you're in Canada, get the M1330 NOW before the price goes up. If you're in the US, then either wait for a coupon, or buy a new M1330 from someone off of eBay.

Yeah i noticed also that the US site became more expensive. Also at this time i would not suggest eBay since it is under attack from a botnet. http://www.dailytech.com/eBay+Under+...rticle8754.htm

I was about to get the m1330, until I pulled mup my config from a few months ago. m Luckily, I printed it to PDF. They marked the same system up by $600. Computer prices are supposed to go down, not up. Sorry, but I refuse to pay that. Time to see what the competition has to offer. Any suggestions for something equal to m1330 from Sony or maybe Asus?

Both the Asus W7J and the Sony SZ series are comparable to the Dell XPS M1330. They are both 13.3" laptops, with Core 2 Duo CPUs and discrete graphics (I believe it is the GeForce 7400 in those models, while the M1330 has an 8400. They also both have fluorescent backlight screens, while the M1330 has an LED-backlit screen)/

If you want an alternative to the Dell XPS M1330 because its features do not meet your needs, then the Asus W7J, Sony SZ series, and even the Dell XPS M1220 are worth researching.

However, if you really want an XPS M1330, and the only thing holding you back is the price, then jump on eBay and snatch up one of the laptops that are being sold there. Not only are they cheaper by a few hundred bucks, but many of them are also in the hands of the seller, which means that you can get it as soon as a few days after the sale is completed.

They also added a 64gig SS drive (for $950) and raised the price of the 32gig SS drive by $100.

Glad I bouht my system in july (just got it last week!!) With the LED screen and the SS drive alone, this would have cost me an additional $250.
