Very true ATC7, i am not a mac fan, but i agree with the rest you said. Dell would have no reason to make anything better if people didn't voice their opinion.

wait, how do you get a 12% discount in canada? im ordering tomorrow from ottawa

The company I work for has, as I'm sure many other corporations have, a corporate deal where their employees get special pricing from Dell. All it is (Dell Canada at least) is a special toll-free phone number and a code for the corporation. You have to call in your order; cannot be done online (Canada).

You get whatever deal Dell has advertised on their regular web site at the time plus a 6% discount, or 12% if you buy a 3 year (or more) warranty with the system.

I am still a bit confused on the performance of the M1330, will it the 8400 GS be faster than the Geforce 7900 GS??
Faster? probably not, but from what i read it will have DX10 support which the 7900 does not.

Are you kidding? The 8400 GS won't even be CLOSE to the 7900 GS. . . . .

8400 GS stats:
Memory Interface 64-bit
Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) 9.6
Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec) 3.2

7900 GS stats:
Memory Interface 256-bit
Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) 32.0
Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec) 7.5

No, but it will be better than the 7400 on the M1210 as you would expect for a replacement model and it will support DX10. So in other words the M1330 will be a nice travel/backup notebook if you're a gamer with reasonable expectations for a 13.3" "Gaming" laptop. I'll probably get one in the next couple of months as I also wait for the M1710's replacement which will have a better card than the 7900/7950 & DX10 support.

i need some help here, i was really excited about the 1330 but after looking at the inspiron 1420 it looks like i can get almost the same thing for a few hundred bucks cheaper. i cant decide if the weight and the LED screen is worth the premium. advice anyone?

I would be a little hesitant to jump on the LED LCD until we see some first hand reviews. As far as I know this is DELL's first LED LCD notebook. Like any new technology it may take a while to get the bugs out. If I were ordering the 1330 TODAY I would probably opt for the regular LED with higher resolution web cam. Now if I wait a couple of months and the reviews are fantastic my thoughts could certainly change. But for now I would be a little hesitant on being the beta tester for the LED LCD.

Based on the step backward Dell took from the 700M to the M1210 LCD, ANY new Dell LCD is suspect until proven otherwise.

Hey dudes I will be purchasing this laptop very soon in the UK. The only thing im worried is the price and the gaming experience. Will I be able to play Counter Strike and the likes smoothly?

Also if a new feature comes out like Blu-Ray will it be possible for me to call dell and get them to exchange my drive?

Here is my specs I want and feel free to advise me on what to get. I managed to get a 5% discount but will a rep bring the price down considerably?

Well I checked the status on my order for an m1330 this afternoon, and the status has changed to be 'in production'... Just wondering what would cause the 1-month gap between production and delivery? Methinks the estimated delivery date is a little too generous...
