Inspiron 8200....new XP Pro install.....CPU idles at 50-70%...??

I have an older Dell Inspiron 8200.
I reformated the hard drive. Then installed XP Pro SP2. Then installed chipset drivers 1st.....video 2nd...etc.. I've done the XP install twice now and the same results: CPU is idling at 50% and higher? Task manager lists "system idle"....50%

Anyone know what's going on here?

I think I found the problem......The Linksys wireles G card software.
I removed the Linksys software and the cpu idle is back down to normal.
