rincewind, did you get yours from cyberpower/ibuypower? I purchased mine from cyberpower and it came with a badge to fill the crater on the top. I love the feel of the finish on the top of the laptop, so smooooooth.

Have you managed to get your core clock speed over 800MHz yet? Or was it on battery mode? My 3200+ is at 2000MHz.

I'm having trouble with my wifi card too, i.e.: i don't have the driver or the make/model number.

Thanks for the tip about the Omega drivers.

what kinda problems r u having with your internal card?

does your wlan toggle on/off switch work?
It's a HyperData badge. I've stuck it on the notebook, but I think I'll look into getting one made. Maybe hypersonic will sell me one hehe.

PS: sorry it's early morning and there really is not enough light to get quality pics.

You're right, it's extremely quiet. I had a bit of apprehension about the noise levels before buying, but I'm rapt how quiet it is. You hardly even notice when the fan kicks in to give the CPU a quick blast. Even the little fan on the power supply is whisper quiet.

I don't or can't find the driver for it. Was it on the driver disk? Can you post a URL for it if possible please?

My lappy should be in by tommorow, and i have Windows XP 64 version to try it with to see how it works. Took awhile for it to be shipped because they ran out of mother board or something dumb like that, so they did next day shipping for the inconvience, somewhat mad but at least they did something to make up for the minor mistake. Hoepfully i will be a happy camper. Try Far Cry or something graphic intensive see how the Mitac handles it

Sorry to hear about that deadlok, I hate waiting for new toys. Even if they are toys for work.

3-4 hours sounds good!!! what about the design? is it plastic? does it feel cheap?
Does it play games well?

So it runs on 3-4 hours of battery, is this while doing normal stuff like word and surfing the net or also while playing games?
It would be nice to get even short review of it, instead of asking questions

it weighs 8 pounds with everything in it.

its very sturdy... not cheap at all

paint job on the lcd backplate is beautiful.

i dont know if its plastic or magneisum.

3-4 hr battery is with normal use like surf, word, aim, etc

for gaming its about 1-2 hours but i havent fully tested it like that yet

i will in my upcoming continued review

Sounds great. And it runs very fast right?

Also - The one you bought from Ibuypower has no badge for the front? Why not and does it look all that bad without it?
cool thanks rincewind... can't wait for your full review... hoping for some more high resolution pictures. E-mail it to me and I will host it if you would like dan@ufrom.com
post #39 of 248
Sorry for so many questions but why is it almost $1500 more expensive when you configure it at voodoopc.com opposed to the ibuypower.com version of it?

Also did it come with a carrying case?
at voodoopc you pay for a name... that's about it... they say they test it or whatever, but it's the same configuration...
