Hey Everyone,
I'll get right to the point. For those that want to purchase a notebook, do not purchase from the Dell EPP site. The EPP is actually MORE expensive then if you were to purchase it from a Dell website (Same two systems). At least as of 6/28/2007. 10:00 AM EST.
I wanted to order an Inspiron 1520 with the Intel N wifi card. First Dell's product support tells me that I can't get it with that notebook because of the motherboard (apparently the Inspiron 1520 from the Dell EPP is a different motherboard then the Inspiron 1520 from the Dell's main website). Then I ask how come I am able to configure a 1520 with the N wifi card on Dell's main page and not the Dell EPP. Again, I was told that because it has a different motherboard.
Ok fine, so I also asked: for the same two system, why is it 80 dollars cheaper from Dell's main page and on Dell EPP, after receiving an additional 12% discount, I am still paying more (yes both have FULL warranty)?
Answer: I was told that the price on Dell's website was wrong. Then the product advisor quickly said "we only have pricing for Dell EPP".
The shipping cost is 19.99 (standard ground shipping). I said that it's free for the Dell's main website but I am being charged if I purchase it through EPP. The response: Yes, we charge you handling fees (even though on Dell's main website, it says free shipping and handling).
I just don't understand them.
