I'm trying to fix a HP laptop for a friend, a DV6338 special edition. Great little laptop, only problem is that she was in an accident and the screen was destroyed.
I've contacted HP countless times, and it's a flurry of incompetent CSRs, redirecting to phone numbers that don't work/ deal with laptops or the outsourced support who can do nothing but read off and answer questions that are preprogrammed.
Every time I contact them they tell me the part is not available in Canada (not in stock) but it is available in the USA, but they don't ship "overseas" to Canada so I MUST have family or friends in the USA to order the parts. No one is able to give me prices for the parts in CAD (Canadian Dollars) and every time they attempt to the prices are lower then their American counterparts.
So now I turn to you Notebookforums, I'm in serious need of a LCD display (p/n 431386-001) and a Bezel assembly kit (p/n 436260-001). Is there any place that will sell to Canada? I know these parts are very expensive but I'm willing to pay up if they're able to ship it. Are there other moels that are compatible? This laptop has a bezel with a webcam built into it.
I'd really appreciate any help.

If there was a way to guarantee I get the parts I'd definitely do it. I was screwed over once when someone offered to send me a screen for my Dell I9300. I lost $340 that day, now the stakes are a bit higher as I have to pay for both really expensive parts and shipping 2x.
