The 06 score on the "My Alienware PC Information" was 6098

why is my pcmark 05 so low
I ran 05 again and it was lower, I forget what is was but I think it was 5 or 6 something. Eh, as long as it plays the games I don't care.

pcmark05 should be almost double the 3dmark06 right?
No clue, I've never really been a benchmark type of guy.

glad to hear everyone is happy with their m9750 : ) for those that own the 1440x900 LCD. IS this screen type the glossy clearview type or matte? How is the contrast and brightness of this screen?
The screen does show some reflextions on the screen and the brightness and contrast is really good on this LCD screen better than my other lcd screen on my desktop..

Hmm.. How did you get Speedfan to work? Mine only reports the CPU temps, not the HD, or the Vid Card.

Mine only shows the processor, HD, and "temp1" whatever that means. Not the vid card.

I just used default options.

Did you check to make sure that both vid cards were in sli? Maybe format your computer. A lot of people like to format it when they get the computer just to get it the way they want
post #71 of 92
i dont have two vid cards...

On single core processors, yes. 05 did not take advantage of multi core processors, where as 06 does. That would be your main difference and with a C2D in a higher clocked range, this could have a significant impact on your score.

Hypersonic just released a Santa Rosa model, only one card (room for upgrades to DX10 Cards), but much more within a buyers price range .

I just purchased a USB cingular wireless laptop connect card(Sierra AC875) for my computer. I noticed the USB ports on the 9750 are vertical instead of horizontal. Would you measure the distance from the bottom of the computer to the bottom of the USB port for me please? If it doesn't fit, I may have to buy a USB hub or extra USB cord, but I hate to do that.

Just under a half inch.

nice review

can i ask why you gave this laptop 7/10 rating for battery life???

thats a lil misleading

I thought that 1 and a half hours was short battery life for a notebook, but since it was a gaming one I gave it a 7/10. It seems pretty average for a gaming laptop to have 1.5 hours of battery.
did you actually time it at 1.5 hours? i clocked the 9750 three times and not once did it go above 2 hours...

Yes I timed it at 1.5 hours. I was doing a variety of things though, so that may have had an effect on it.
