I like it except for the OS,and I would get the brighter WXGA+,but my eyes are getting worse and I am struggling with even WSXGA on a 15 now.
Awesome price.

I have a Dell XP Pro disk at home, so if I don't like Vi$ta I can change it.

I thought about getting the 1440x900 display, but the 1680x1050 was only $50 extra, and I like to play games at high resolutions

Two things I would have done differently; I would have selected the 7200rpm HD (160GB) and got the 2MP integrated webcam.

That's a very good price BTW. EPP?

Also, does the 85WHr battery stick out of the back or is it the same size physically as the 56WHr battery?
If you don't mind me asking how did you get that price? I would absolutely pull the trigger on one if I could get that kind of deal

Your'e so luck I really want one of those new Dell 1520's. They have great specs for a really good price. I love the fact that you can build one with a 8600 Gt card sounds fast. What a step up from the old x1400 in the old 1505....Hope you enjoy it and be good to here back on some performance stats when you get it.

From what Dell sales said, yes you are correct,56WHr is flush,I don't know why they couldn't hide the whole 9 cell, its not like its small and thin ,but then again, the Asus G1s isn't either.

College EPP The webcam is not really a feature i would use. The cost to jump from 120 to 160gb was more thanI was willing to pay (I think they wanted $75 more)

Ship date is currently 7/20 so it will be a while before I can bench it...hopefully I'll get it sooner

What kind of student EPP discount did you get? I priced mine out with those exact specs at 1554.96 after 12% off, $70 off and a $200 coupon?

You have great taste though, that's the exact system I was looking at ^_^

On the main page, I went under "recommended bundles" and configured one. I was shocked when it came up with the price above

My school doesn't seem to be as on the ball as yours. They dont have any of the new lineup on their recommended computers yet. But, if they give deals like that then its worth it for me to wait.
Mine doesn't have any of the new lineup either, although from what I hear pretty much everywhere else does. Where do you go to school? I'm hoping the deals will work their way over here

University of Illinois. Looking at their recommended page though, I'm not sure how often it is updated or how high of a quality the systems they choose will be

crazy larry, where do you go? I seriously can't believe you got that kind of deal with recommended bundles, I can't get within $400 of that price with that config even with EPP
