Hope I am not repeating a post but I am operating an Aspire 5100-3825 w/ Vista Home Premium and have a problem with DVD playback.
My drive is a MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-850S ATA. An error message reading: Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. Try installing an updated driver for your video card.
I have no trouble recognizing disks or accessing their files, it is only playback that is affected.
Now I have done the obvious and checked for driver updates, and I found a few other posts on different forums to edit the registry, but I am a tad weary to do this with out first checking to see if there is something different to do on this Acer machine, the other two notebooks that had those steps were Sony and Toshiba.
Also I didn't notice any trouble before I installed DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink as I was backing up my LOST season discs.
That's about it, I would greatly appreciate some help!
