FIRST: there's no detailed specs anyware, but recent rants and reviews state one thing for sure: the screen is WXGA. No WSXGA is confirmed at the moment. It might, or might not. Who knows? Another issue is the Graphic card: which is 9600 with 64MBs (in a month or so there would be plenty of 9700s around)

Reviews? Where? I'd love to read one. A few calls around indicated that the W1 would come with both screens as an option. And that those shown were the intial run to gauge market response. Fifty in total. Production run on the W1 is just gearing up now.

6700N? Is that the same as the 6n here in the States?

When you're dropping $2000, it's always a lot of money. And if waiting a month to six weeks so I can actually buy a machine with the specs I want, I'll wait. If it was much longer than that, well, I'd most likely go with something now. There are plenty of good machines out there today, but they lack the 15.4 wsxga+ screen i've been wanting.
Time will tell.
