PCTorque not responding to E-mails or Phone calls

Thread Starter
About 1 1/2 years ago, I bought a 5720 from PCTorque.

Recently (2 1/2 mo ago), the hard drive started having issues. I then tried to contact PCTorque, Both by sending e-mails and leaving messages on their toll free sales line (1-800-346-6986 (Toll Free Sales)).

The laptop is more than 1 year old, and I did buy a 3 year warranty extension (for a total coverage of 4 years). My understanding was that once the inital Sager warranty ends, the laptop was than covered by a warranty service handled py PCTorque. (The warranty option I have is no longer available, incidentallly).

It is now serveral months, and a series of phone messages later, and no one from PCTorque has contacted me.

I can understand that I may be calling them in error (who handles my warranty? The information is no longer available on the PCTorque site) But I'd Expect a minimum of a simple 5 minute call-back, and someone giving me the number of who I should contact for warranty support.

In short, untill someone from PCTorque finally contacts me Do not buy anything from PCTorque! Their "support" is nonexistant.

Even if this post prompts someone to respond, I would suggest being very careful if buying anything from these people.

PCTorque as we knew it no longer exists.
The name was bought by someone who can't handle it.

why have you made that conclusion?

that he can't handle it?
because of the frequency of complaints like this.

PCTorque does not handle extended warranties. In the past Sager has used third parties, such as Warrantech or ATS. Do you know what company you bought your warranty from?

If you have ATS, unfortunately they went out of business and literally disappeared. Sager has offered discounts on repairs for those customers using ATS. Read about it here: http://www.notebookforums.com/thread185483.html

If you don't know who is covering your warranty/didn't receive that paperwork with your laptop, please drop me a PM with your full name and email address, and I will get in contact with PCT for you.

I recently bought a Sager np 5760 from PCtorque, i think about 2 weeks ago. Before buying the laptop, I had questions which were answered quickly by Charles via email, but when I bought the laptop and recieved no conformation of the purchase or the status of it after a week, I emailed charles and through PCT site, I recieved no replys. This to me seems fishy. But I called Sager and they said the laptop has been shipped a long time ago and luckily i recieved it the next day . Im not sure if the stafff are just busy, but when I was thinking of purchasing the laptop the communication was good, and when I purchased it, contact was cut off. Coincidence?

Well you can try pulling the hard drive yourself and depending on the manufacture you might get lucky. My harddrive is a Seagate 120 GB SATA drive. When it went bad I entered the harddrive serial # on Seagate's website and it stated their was a 5 year warranty on the Drive. Well even though the label on the hard drive said this is a OEM drive return for repair to the Laptop manufacture, I figured what do I have to lose. So I submitted an RMA request and hey they sent me another hard drive. So if yur extended warranty was through ATS this method is probably going to be your only recourse. Depending on the hard drive manufacture and their policies or williness to help of course.
