hello
I have problem with video card (geforce go 7900gs). I have dell inspiron 9400/1705 notebook with vista home premium 32 bit. During work on notebook display screen shuts down for few seconds and after that it turn on again. After that message comes on the screen (driver nvlddmkm.sys stopped respoding and had succelfully recovered). I have dell drivers. Why does it happend. What can I do to fix it.? I tried to format c drive couple times and it didn't work.

Are you installing the drivers for vista or XP. If possible uninstall the videpo card drivers in safe mode and then reboot ands reinstall the VISTA drivers downloaded from the dell support website. Also recomondation update the BIOS if you have an ollder version.

Hello, This is Richard from Dell Online Community Outreach group. I wanted to respond to your post about the video driver issue that you are experiencing. The drivers from Dell should work without any issues. You should try what the previous poster had suggested. If you wanted to get alternate drivers the only other is to change to Windows XP. The reason for this is that NVIDIA has those drivers available on their website, http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_mobile_84.63.html. Unfortunately, NVIDIA still is not offering the Vista drivers support for Dell's 1705/1710 on their website. I am not saying that you should go back to XP as you should not have to. However, it is the only option since you are not pleased with the driver offered on the Dell support site, http://support.dell.com/support/down...&fileid=190734. But, since NVIDIA has driver for XP hopefully they will soon offer a Vista driver as well. I hope this bit of information assists you, and good luck. Regards, Richard B Dell Online Community Outreach edit: I forgot to provide you the link for the bios update, http://support.dell.com/support/down...&fileid=214240
