Annoying scroll problem !

I run 3 hard drive and have 3 caddys. Well, my new 250 GB hd was formatted with 3 partitions but during my XP install I accidentally had my USB drives connected. So after XP was installed my main drive is not C!

But anyway as I just started to use it today an annoying scrolling problem popped up! It's as if there is a continuous Up scroll command - what this does is zoom every document I see in MS Word to 500% (MAX). And the menu in Windows Media Center keeps scrolling. I can't even play my video games!

I tried removing and reinstalling my USB mouse and Synoptic touchpad drivers, and I set the touchpad to disable on a USB mouse - but the scrolling problem keeps occuring!

Anyone know how to solve this problem? I'd hate to reformat and reinstall. But if I do, how do I assign C: to be my main drive again? Should I erase my partitions and redo the partitions again?

Had exactly the same problem - installed while an external HDD was sitting their.

Only solution I could get to work was wipe & reinstall sorry .

To my knowledge you can't change the drive letter for the OS partition - I could be wrong but I spent some time trying to fix this and all attempts failed.

Hey, when I erase and redo my partition I'll make sure no USB drives are connected. Hopefully then C: will be my main drive!

Oh, and it pays to have multiple drive for your laptop. Helps diagnose problems too and as backup when one install goes screwy. My 250GB drive is for gaming! Gonna load up up with games, as my laptop is faster than my 5 year old desktop.
