here it is. Its a relieve and a concern at the same time

Obviously it's going to go down. In my opinion, first generation cards aren't going to pull much weight because it's a baby in the series. I think we need to wait for the next line of cards first.

well I just sold off one of my M1710's and built a desktop DX10 system... Just have to wait for all the parts to come in now!

lmao i guess there are people in this world that care more about multiple shadows than they do about money :P (i am no trying to criticize, its just a joke, if i had the money i would too )

I'm not happy with DX10, the 8800, or Vista yet. So maybe I'll wait another year to get a good burning fast desktop. By then the 8800 replacement will be out.

I'm one of those people sadly. Although, what is money if you don't spend it on something you love???

By then the 10 series will be around the corner. You can wait all you'd like, there will always be something better next time around.

Then I have 2 notebook 160GB 7.2k SATA drives I am going to use for archiving.

I am looking into selling my 32" 1360x768 LCD & grabbing a 37" 1920x1200. Still debating it, though.

I looked into SLi but found it was for the most part, overrated, especially in lower resolutions. The only addition I am looking into (once more games support it) is the Physics processor... But for now it has limited uses & really is not worth the cost or additional slot it will take up.

dx10 is like vista. highly overrated, though I'm sure in 3-4 years it'll be standard.

And of course, by then, regardless of what graphics card you get for your notebook it'll be obsolete. And for desktops, same deal, unless you have an 8800 gtx

nah, 8800 will be obsolete as well. Thats just how tech works.

Nice setup Sol. Personally I would have gone with a evga mobo and ocz psu but thats just my preference. Hopefully I can get a desktop setup sometime around the 8900 series.

And nice choice on the aluminum case.

Does Evga make the P35 chipset mobos though? Since if he wants PCIe x16 2.0 he'll want the P35 board from ASUS.

A game built with dx10 has yet to come out yet, so we still dont know what performance will really be like.

lol I did quite a few comparisons between the boards BFG/MSI/eVGA/XFX, etc & found the MSI board was one of the best rated boards out there for the money. Of course it's all subjective...

The Asus P35 board was one of the best feature filled boards out there. I could not find 1 bad review on it. I did not want a 650/680 based board because I was not interested in SLi, & the nVidia boards have had mixed reviews.

well i spent a wad of cash this year building my desktop (see Sig for details) which bencharks 12,000 in 3Dmark06, and I still have not pushed the system to the limits, that was just with a mid range OC

When AMD released the Quad Core later this year I will upgrade to that as well
