So it looks like still no good word on SLi support for us with Vista?

*sigh*

i've been running with a driver from laptopvideo2go that seems to give limited SLi performance... atleast my FPS seems to be close to what it was back when i was playin on XP...

I have a question kinda along these lines. I ordered windows vista ultimate with my m9750 but my college supplies a website with a free download of XP. I plan on installing both and my question is, is that a smart idea and how easy is it to switch back and forth between the two?

Sorry, i wish I could give you sound advice on that, unfortunatly I am kind of a noob at that stuff. My 9750 should arrive today ( actually it arrived last night, but I was not home from work to sign for it in time) , and I plan on using it right out of the box. I know I probably will not get the most out of it, But I am used to running a crappy dell dimension desktop with a dog crap gpu. I am sure that I will love this baby when it arrives

I don't want to turn this thread into a Vista vs. Xp debate but I'm surprised at how many people with SLi capable machines are running the new OS.
May I ask why? I know Vista looks good, but giving up all that performance seems like a huge trade-off, especially when you have nothing to loose by waiting.
Honestly, I'm not looking for an argument... but with all the downsides I keep reading about I just want to know why everyone is so hot on Vista.

Real easy. Just create a space for XP big enough, install XP on it and when you boot up it asks which system you want. When you want to switch OS just reboot

Another thing you can do, which I've never tried, is run VMWare which lets you run XP in a virtual environment so you don't even have to partition or reboot or anything. Like I said, I've never tried it, I can't see it being good for gaming but, for those XP only programs it might be worth a shot

Moreover, i'm also surprised at how many people with dx9-only graphic chips are running Vista...
