Itunes music store question?

Hi ok basically I have an account with iTunes music store and I have somehow authorized all 5 of my slots- I think two are on laptops which were sent back and replaced; one was on a laptop I sold before I upgraded, one was on an old computer no longer with me and the last one is on my Dell as my apple was away getting fixed; but now I can no longer load itunes up on my dell- well it loads up but immediately closes due to some error...
Anyway I just wanted to know what happens if I close my account- what happens to ALL the music that I've bought- and then open a new account- will I be able to play that or not- is there any way to get round this that anyone can think of...?

There is no need to do that. Open iTunes, then go to the Store and make sure that you are logged in. Then go to Advanced and hit "Deauthorize All" You can do this once a year, and it will deauthorize all 5 machines. Then just play one of your purchased items, re-authorize yourself, and you should be good to go. I have also in the past contacted Apple and had them deauthorize all my machines once because I kept forgetting to deauthorize systems before I reformatted windows. I have not yet had to do that on OS X, even though I have reformatted a few times (usually due to Windows) so I guess they do something a little different there.

lol I forgot to mention I did that last year- hit is by mistake instead of just deauthorizing my one laptop- so I can't do it again 'till the 12th- but that's only like a week- just if anyone knew of a quicker way.

Like I said, I have emailed Apple in the past and gotten them to deauthorize all my machines, but the guy was reluctant to do so. I was about 7-8 since my last de-authorize though, not 350 days
