Hold down "FN" and tap "F11". It seems number lock is on by default in some situations. Or, hold down the FN key and hit the SCROLL key (F12 button). Also try pressing F12 & F11 together.

Dave38...You are my hero....I can't thank you enough for your post. It worked. I held the Fn key and tapped the F11 key...PRESTO. You helped a person in desperate need....you are a kind soul. Many thanks, thepiker

I had an employee in the field who called me yesterday and said his function key was stuck. I read several forums and I had about 3 or 4 things that I was going to get him to try. I asked him to try this first- function + f11 and it worked. So thank you from us as well! Easy fix! That's what I like!
I had taken apart my Acer Aspire One A150 to switch the wireless card and my FN key was locked somehow. I kept taking off the keyboard plate and plugging it back in. So I Googled my issue and was led here. FN + F11 and boom, instant fix. Thanks!
