In that situation myself actually(well not looking for a new distro but wondering whether to debug or reinstall - an update casued the system to no longer work. Its either the C library or the new NVIDIA driver).
However yes it is encouraging, since dual booters can't be distinguished from single booters. Or indeed folks usig the better bandwidth at work to download a distro for use at home
