Hi,

My motherboard has died on me and I was wondering if anybody had a intel 7700 mobo that they would be willing to sell for a reasonable price. I am also looking for some more RAM incase that some dead sticks are the problem.

I know, thanks hammerhead but rjtech has them for almost $500. I was looking to find one a little bit cheaper than that.

I'm not sure about the power supply/mobo combinations. rjtech.com should be able to answer your questions about that.

I'd sell you mine, but you'd have to purchase the entire machine with it! Just think, you'd have spare parts and/or a completely working 7700.

Thanks guys, but I just bit the bullet and bought a new mobo from rjtech.com for $480. Its the newest revision 6.1 or 6.2, so I am going to spend a little bit more money and buy a core 2 duo processor and some ram, to keep it running cooler and faster.

Uhhh, I didn't think the Core 2 ran in this machine... 3.8 Ghz P4 is the highest supported.

Ah, I just bought one from one company for just $380.00 V6.2N.

I wouldn't spend so much money to fix it. The 7700 model is defective, no question. It will just die again. Cut your losses and buy a new laptop and make sure to get a 3year warranty.

I've had 0 problems with mine and its been two years. Then again, I clean it out with air quite often like you should, knowing you're running a desktop processor in a 2" form factor....

Ok, BFisch06 is right. Core 2 duo is NOT supported, unfortunatly so i guess im stuck with my 3.2 p4. I was really hoping to get a core 2 duo, both for speed and the decrease in heat.

3.8 Ghz Prescott P4 is the highest Intel chip supported.
