hey yang, i'm using the most recent drivers off of Alienware's driver download page.. version 94.23.
in regards to your issue with the card reader, i have no issues reading the sd format. in fact, windows xp can read it without the drivers installed - i would assume you have a faulty card reader... that sucks...
i have found a few issues with downgrading as some other folks have discovered:
*there are 3 unknown devices in the device manager, after all drivers seem to be installed off of Alienware's website - everything appears to be functional(after doing some research, they are related to windows vista)
*3dmark05 produces an error upon closing, this has been reproduced with 3 clean install of windows xp, the error has to do with the program not being able to access a driver/drive, may be related to the 3 unknown devices, or could be related to the video card drivers Alienware provided. the benchmark has to be run to reproduce the error, if not, an error will not occur.
*when installing audio drivers, windows would state that a problem occured while installing new hardware, though everything works fine after a reboot. i did find out how to avoid this "error" for those of you who are picky regarding windows errors.
Can you confirm any of these guys when you get the chance? By the way, I'm getting about 13200 in 3dmark05 as an avg. and everything appears to be working fine.
