I have been looking to get a notebook for my Dad. He does not game, is currently running an ancient AMD based desktop, and he would like something he can take on trips. As of last night I was leaning toward an Inspiron 1501 but I just noticed the new Vostro line. Check out the setup I just configured for $778. I am quite amazed as this seems like fantasitic starter notebook at a reasonable price. Note that it includes the bigger battery, bluetooth, leather carrying case, DVD burner, 120 GB HD, and the Nvidia 8400. I was actually leaning toward an integratged GPU because he is not a gamer but for this price what the heck. Does anyone think there is a better price / performance deal on a similar notebook on DELL's site? Note that I have been checking EPP, samll business, and home. I welcome any feedback.
