compaq 700us screen or inverter problem..

ok on the rightside of the screen is all shaky with moveing pixels and im trying to find out what causeing it.

like about couple weeks ago there was ony moveing pixels which was not bad at all but this week it so bad that you cant see much on the whole rightside about 4inchs across like if you look at the time its all mess up with the pixels and they movieing.

and even if i move a window or anything to the that side its all shakey and mess up.

i took it apart about couple hours ago and i didint find anything wrong like wires unplug or anything.

so i was pretty much thinking its the inverter going out or something?

Your LCD needs to be changed. It happens.. Remember that unit is a little old. If it was the inverter then you would most likely see it as a dim/dark image or no image at all. But since its just a portion of the screen then its the LCD. Let me know I have a replacement for that.

what about the video cable?

because i also have a compaq 1692 got it back in 99 new and year later the screen whould flicker alot than one day it went out so i took it to bestbuy they said it was the screen and we took it to some other computer store and they said it was the motherboad.

than one day i took it apart and saw the video wire was broken i touch it togther and it turn on but went off the 3rd time so i bought a inverter and it was good as new again.

but it still will flicker sometimes till i open the case trim and touch the wire and its fixed.

and it looks allmost like this but that whole screen does it.

which ony the right side does it on this one.

it seems like it started after the hinges fail on it and its on that same side to.

could it be the video cable is failing? because lastweek it was ok wasint this big

sorry i ment they look fine looking at them from the outside but it could be a short in the wires inside of the black wrap that covers all the little wires inside.

i like to problee try the smaller things befor to think its the lcd because they pretty much still going 50$ and over for the screens which is pretty cheep but i just dont have that money right now

this laptop haveint been used much sense i got it new back in 2002 till now i been takeing it down my uncles on fridays for my cusion to play diablo2 on me and my uncle and cusion have a 3 person lan when we go down there.

i use my dell 9300 and my uncles uses his desktop.

the friday just pass i had to hook up a external monitor which is a pain to do and is smaller than the laptop has.

what i dont get is the side that is bad is moveing befor that was bunch of moveing pixles than it went black on that side but still moveing with sharp edges .

which to me seems like its the wires or inverter.

usely what i have seen when a screen go bad is just black or black on one side or vertercal lines but haveint seen anything moveing like im seeing now.
