Oh yes! btw they just offered the new light scribe optical today...

I'll have an extensive review and probably a comparsion w/ a full blown XPS2 Red Top (My Uncle's massively expensive pride & Joy) comparison

soooo excited!!

I was going to wait until AW comes out w/ the 8xxx series GPU's for the m9750...but I figured I could always upgrade later =P

I'll be adding 4gb of Ram & a 200-250 2nd Hdd myself

also I'll be duel booting XP Pro until Vista has some stable drivers/SLI drivers out

Thought I would say congrats.
I just ordered my first (in the sig).

And I'm lazy, I figure I'll let them install the RAM.
Though I'm planning on duel booting Linux (which can use the full 4GB) and XP.
No plans for at least the next year or two to use Vista.

nice!

Welcome to the Forums and the AW family...

I'm a Linux Dummy...Do I need to buy Red Hat to install Linux?

just waiting to hear back from the mothership etc. haha

Congratulations Yang. I'm envious of that system. I'm sure it will kick major behind, especially after your added upgrades.

Thanks! I'm absolutely stoked =D

first time I've gone Nvidia in 2 yrs (last Nvidia I had was a BFG 6800 Ultra)

Last 2 machines had ATI x850 & x1800...really stoked on my 1st time tweaking w/ SLI and Benching on it =P

Congrats! I thought about going dual-video card, but I thought I'd wait for the DX10 cards before doing that.

You don't need to buy RedHat for Linux. There are a large number of Linux versions that you can get. You can even download RedHat's version for free...the only problem with many of the free versions is that you don't have paid support...like you can't call in and expect them to fix anything.

Linuxquestions.org might be a good place to start learning a little more, if you have the time.

Congratulations! It seems that it as they continue to upgrade their configuration options, it appears that it was wise to wait. I wish I knew that in April

Replacing the RAM in the m9750 is a piece of cake. It took me one minute to unscrew the back panel and replace the RAM its that easy and its way cheaper to buy it from like Newegg...

As coldsleep mentioned, you don't really need to buy anything for Linux.
And judging by his tag, I'd say he has more then a passing knowledge of *nux

There are many "distros" you can use, aside from RedHat.
My current laptop is running Fedora Core 5, I'll probably run Ubuntu on my new laptop.

I tend to use Windows for games, Linux for everything else.

I haven't yet seen anyone running Linux on the m9750 yet, and as its new I'm not sure the driver support. So it'll be an interesting experiment getting it all working

Nice DVD drive on yours btw.

The week before I ordered my m9750 I just upgraded my desktop. My Geoforce 5950 died, and at the same time one of my hard drives also died. Two deaths at the same time, it was a pain in the rear isolating what was wrong. Hard drive it seemed like, but it would randomly die when not accessing the drive, due to memory corruption in the graphics card. After the end of a very long week, I ended up with a nice new 750 GB drive and Nvidia 8800 w/640 MB RAM graphics card, but I lost most of my sanity in the process. When I ordered my laptop, I traded money for sanity. I had enough swapping parts

sounds like bad luck figuring out if the RAM is bad is alot easier than a vid card going on the frizs.. I keep my old RAM so if something happens I can trouble shoot..

Congrats on your stellar config.
I'm jealous of your Lightscribe drive. That's a great feature for another measley $25.
Good choice going with SLi. You can upgrade later and have framerates that Pwn U Suxorz! in the meantime.

Congrats Yang... I twisted your arm to get you to go for the m9700, but now you've gone and one upped me...

I'm sure you're going to love it, and I'm looking forward to your review.
