Single ATA Hard drive problem w/ 8790

Windows 2000 Pro does not recognize my hard drive, it seems no matter what I do. 98 SE will blue screen when it tries to load drivers near the end of its installation. I got FreeBSD on my 8790 just fine, but I need Windows nonetheless, especially at work!

I have a single 60GB 7200rpm drive. My dip switches are in the "down" (off) position ("both of them").

Does anyone have any suggestions?

need to use supplied ATA driver

You need to use the supplied ATA drivers in the floppy. To use that you need a usb floppy that works with windows. (Not all usb floppies work with standard windows drivers).
(see related posts http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=20003 and http://notebookforums.com/showthread.php?t=19879)

I talked with Sager and they say that the floppy drive I have does not have it's drivers packaged with the windows installer. They guarantee that the floppy they sell will work.

I have ordered mine from pctorque and will let you know once they arrive and I get a change to try it out

The drivers load when the Sager usb floppy drive is used. Sager says some sony drives may work as well.
