I think the processor is probably the best performance/value of the choices you have.
Should be a excellent work laptop and would be nice to hear your opinions when you receive it.
XP is the best choice at the mo IMO,the UPEK reader mmm,I find the software suite overly bloated and complicated for what I want and don't think I would bother with it again, but your needs might be more involved than mine, other than that,I would have spec'd it the same as what you have apart from getting a 160GB drive.

Yeah I made sure I got the CPU with 4MB cache, but I wasn't sure if should go with an even faster speed. I think it will be fine. The 160GB drive was a $340 upgrade where the 120GB is only $90. I can always upgrade it later, but I think 120GB is going to be plenty for me.

I will certainly provide my opinions once I get it.

Thanks!

That's a nice system. I own the exact same specs minus quadro card. How much did you end up paying after taxes?

I haven't ordered this laptop yet, but my quote total is $1,400. I will order this laptop in the next day or so.

Downgrade the RAM and hard drive to the lowest they offer and get it elsewhere - you'll save a whole lot of money. You can get two gigs of RAM for around $50 nowadays, 250 gig 5400RPM hard drives can be had for well under $200.

Definitely some good advice. My company is picking up the tab on this one so I'd rather get it all in one order.

UPDATE: It has been ordered and should be here by next Friday!
