Help with gaming please

Thread Starter
I wanted to know if there was anything I could do to get my laptop running some of the newer games that will be coming out or newer games in general. I know my laptop isn't a gaming laptop or even a mid range one, but its all I have and I don't have money to buy a new one.(Will probably have this until it doesn't run the programs I need = a long time from now)

I have an HP dv8000z with 2GB of RAM and an ATI Xpress 200M.

If there is anything I could do besides buying a new one to get this to run new games to where they are playable and not super laggy I would appreciate it.

I assume the ATI is an integrated card so I'd have to say you're out of luck

Nope nothing you can do. Start saving for one with a better video card.. or invest the same money in an Asus XG Station

you have very low expections then. ive played hl2 and css on my friends 200m. hl2 is somewhat playable on low settings but css is not playable at all. you cannot upgrade that laptop so save money to get a new one with a dedicated gfx

Wow... FlatOut2, Elder's Scroll III: Morrowind, Crashday, EVE-Online, Call of Cuty, runs well on my Geforce6150. Prey runs laggy on GMA950.. but all those are intergrated GPUs. GMA is the worst ever.

EDIT: Not to forget my fav GTA: San Andres!! Smoooothy...
