M170: Unable to boot into safe mode (blurry video)

Well, I have spyware (Vundo) and I need to boot into safe mode to remove it. The thing is, I can't do that since every time I try to boot into safe mode, the video is blurry once it loads into windows. VGA mode works fine.

I have tried a lot of different drivers, stock dell drivers, dhpoint, laptopvideo2go, etc and all do the same thing, gets blurry only when it gets into safe mode.

I have also tried using no driver at all, same thing. It only does it in safe mode. All of my other 2d/3d functions all work flawlessly. I have also tried using another monitor as a primary monitor, no dice.

Does anyone have a clue as what to do? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, no tool was able to remove it. I had to manually remove it via a NTFS disk.

Does anyone have any idea on how to resolve this lack of a safe mode?

Why exactly are you booting into safe mode? To run a tool? To remove/replace some files?

What do you mean blurry? Blurry sounds usable to me. I used to have a problem where when I booted into safe mode it was so heavily artifacted (horizontal distorted bands) it was completely unusable. It was running a resolution my newly installed 7800 GTX didn't like without the drivers fully loaded (1600x1200). I don't remember exactly how I fixed it but I think it may have been booting into VGA mode, lowering the resolution to 1280x1024, and then rebooting into safe mode, which now took the new "safer" resolution.

Yes, this is basically the case. I have tried that method, no dice.

If you would tell me what exactly you are trying to do I might be able to help you...
